Greenhouse gas emissions
Greenhouse gas emissions: their causes and what we can do to reduce them
The Problem
Increased greenhouse gas emissions have resulted in atmospheric conditions that are compromising peoples ability to maintain agriculture and limits their access fresh water. Due to emissions, new research shows that the melting of a large area of West Antarctica is inevitable. The water is already rising at a rat of a about .45 millimeters a year and it will only get worse. We have produced so many gas emissions that we can now not stop the melting of this glacier. It is estimated that sea level will rise ten feet over the next few hundred years. The main cause of emissions is production of electricity and power. We need to use more and more power as technology advances and the population increases, resulting in major emissions and global warming. We consider power to be a need, and if everyone needs it and our population grows and grows, we will keep emitting gases and burning fossil fuels. We will not be able to recover from this epidemic unless we act now.
